The construction continues despite all of the rain this spring and early summer there in West Virginia. The building and a portion of the screened porch are framed. The architectural driftwood gray shingles are going on and should be complete this week. The poplar bark siding from North Carolina arrived last week. We have in a warehouse nearby the 42″ wide x 5′-0″ Jacuzzi spa tub, the gas logs and fireplace, the oak hardwood flooring, windows and doors. The deck which is off to the side of the screen porch and the balcony from the loft have not been framed as of this date. The spiral staircase is due to arrive next week and the hot tub, which will be bought towards the end of the construction, is still subject to the condition of the budget when we can see an end to the spending.
I have made the journey to the cabin from Tennessee twice and get so involved in the construction that I haven’t taken the time to go over to the river and fish for the trout.
